The concept of this project was to explore the qualities of form, space, and detail through designing two unique “frame-like” object spaces. Each student in our studio was assigned two diverse types from a matrix, in pursuit of becoming masters of the effects of coalescence of form, space, and material; in this case specifically, steel. We used the ideas of Approach, Opening, Gathering, Sitting, Ascending, and Exiting, as programmatic agitants. My assigned types were Formed/ Irregular/ Bounded and Straight/ Regular - Irregular/ Bounded - Unbounded.
