This is a design proposal for a Natatorium in Wilson Park, located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The idea for this structure was derived from a sheet study project that focused on the use of wood as material, and explored the actions of fold and joint. This was initially an object space constructed as a corner condition, further developed into a frame for the roof of this Natatorium. The concept was to allow diffused light to stream through the open gaps of the shifted segments of the connected wood panels. This building is built into the hills of this site and is situated parallel to the river that flows through Wilson Park, intending to provide the visitors with a sense of standing along the edge of the water and experiencing a more organic connection to the environment.
