Timeless Essence x Arch is a twelve piece collection of fashion derived from architecture. Through a series of drawings, elements of both buildings and fashion as characters are compared. The character traits analyzed are structure, form, scale, shape and proportion. These similarities are the reason for influence between the two disciplines, as well as making for an easy transition from one field to the other. Iconic architecture that seemed to inspire us upon first glance was selected; components such as texture, pattern, and color were honed in on, ultimately influencing the final iterations of silhouettes as shown. The process began by examining character traits, then creating a significant mood board that highlighted key details, and concluded with reconstructing the original architectural forms to the human scale and designing garments for men and women. To finalize the relationship between architecture and the silhouettes, we close with a final depiction of a comic that showcases original designs influenced from the iconic buildings. The comic represents the selected architecture as independent characters in the audience interacting with the models on the runway.
