
This is my final collection from the Fashion & Architecture class during my time studying abroad in Rome, Italy. This course explores the connections between Fashion and Architecture while adding an overview about Italian and European fashion design. These are two completely different and independent disciplines, architecture produces inhabitable art while fashion gives us wearable art. Both shelter our human bodies. Even if the two industries have completely different set of construction materials, they meet in terms of aesthetic, conceptualism and process, and they definitely play with the same elements and principles of design. Technological and scientific developments shortened the distance between Fashion and Architecture for an interesting future where boundaries still need to be explored. The creation of this collection became by first choosing contrasting adjectives, making a moodboard, mind-mapping, then sketching variations of the concept, and eventually coming to a final collection. My final collection is inspired by the term “Hauntingly Beautiful,” and the aesthetic of the moodboard that I imagined this term as.
